(vaneigem wrote biting criticism of debord , international.) debord focused on filmmaking financial backing movie mogul , publisher, gérard lebovici (éditions champ libre), until lebovici s mysterious death. debord suspected of lebovici s murder. distraught accusations , friend s death, debord took films , writings out of production until after death. had agreed have films released posthumously @ request of american researcher, thomas y. levin. debord s 2 recognized films society of spectacle (1973) , in girum imus nocte et consumimur igni (fr) (1978).


after dissolving situationist international, debord spent time reading, , writing, in relative isolation in cottage @ champot alice becker-ho, second wife. continued correspond on political , other issues, notably lebovici , italian situationist gianfranco sanguinetti. focused on reading material relating war strategies, e.g. clausewitz , sun tzu, , designed war game alice becker-ho.


debord married twice, first michèle bernstein , alice becker-ho. debord had affairs other women, including michèle mochot-bréhat. bernstein wrote vaguely fictional detailed account of open relationships mochot , had debord in novel king s horses.
