at eurovision








according eurovision rules, nations exceptions of host country , big 5 (france, germany, italy, spain , united kingdom) required qualify 1 of 2 semi-finals in order compete final; top ten countries each semi-final progress final. european broadcasting union (ebu) split competing countries 6 different pots based on voting patterns previous contests, countries favourable voting histories put same pot. on 31 january 2017, special allocation draw held placed each country 1 of 2 semi-finals, half of show perform in. romania placed second semi-final, held on 11 may 2017, , scheduled perform in first half of show.


once competing songs 2017 contest had been released, running order semi-finals decided shows producers rather through draw, similar songs not placed next each other. originally, romania set perform in position 6, following entry malta , before entry netherlands. however, following russia s withdrawal contest on 13 april , subsequent removal running order of second semi-final, romania s performing position shifted 5.

the singers concept stage show revealed during first rehearsal. commences number of large toy soldiers drumming in background, whereon further colorful imagery displayed during rest of performance, including colourful butterflies, blue clouds, white roses, blue musical notes , images flying on place along letters yodel in different tones; singers performing in yellow circle. @ end of performance, florea appears on glittery cannon planned shoot out colorful objects—which according singer have represented explosion of love , happiness —following second cannon introduced , displayed in background. florea s brother provided backing vocals.
