further experiments have shown thymine inhibits enzyme via both substrate inhibition , nonlinear product inhibition. suggests thymine can inhibit enzyme via multiple sites. enzyme displays cooperativity respect both thymidine , phosphate in presence of thymine, suggests thymidine phosphorylase has several allosteric and/or catalytic sites well.
