tropical storm vince named on october 9 in east atlantic near madeira (east-southeast of azores) , upgraded hurricane later day though later analysis indicated had formed subtropical storm previous day. although vince small , short-lived storm briefly reached hurricane strength, notable developing in eastern atlantic, away hurricanes found. may farthest north , east tropical cyclone has ever formed in atlantic basin.


vince made landfall on iberian peninsula near huelva, spain on october 11 after weakening tropical depression. vince first tropical cyclone on record make landfall in spain. no damages or injuries reported, aside flooding in areas.
