in addition light weight, tuned engine , minimalist bodywork, café racer typically features distinctive ergonomics. dropped bars low, narrow handlebars called clip-ons – enabled rider tuck in , reducing wind resistance , improving control. along rearward located seat, posture required rearsets, or rear-set footrests , foot controls, again typical of racing motorcycles of era. distinctive half or full race-style fairings mounted forks or frame.
