Life Luigi Albertini
albertini born in ancona, italy. after reading law @ university of turin, in 1894 moved london, foreign correspondent la stampa of turin. while in london investigated labour conditions , studied organization of times newspaper. in 1898 joined milan newspaper, corriere della sera editorial assistant, working under eugenio torelli viollier , domenico oliva. in spring of 1900, viollier died , albertini took position managing editor, , few weeks later director. invested in paper. installed modern equipment , updated paper’s technical services. under albertini s direction, corriere della sera became read , respected daily paper in italy. but, in november 1925 paper s owners, crespi family, sacked him because of public stance against fascist government. last editorial included in 29 november 1925 edition.
after that, albertini withdrew public life , retired model estate @ torrimpietra near rome. there, dedicated time managing estate , reclaiming land on it. extensively researched italy s role in first , second world wars. wrote memoirs , had completed three-volume seminal work on origins of first world war when died on 29 december 1941 in rome.
