tranmere rovers

a pacy winger, parkinson began liverpool trainee, winning fa youth cup in 1996, released shortly after. signed tranmere rovers managed former liverpool striker john aldridge. handed professional debut on 22 october 1997 when came on 81st-minute substitute john morrisey in 2–1 defeat against wolverhampton wanderers. parkinson settled rovers first team squad club plying trade in second tier of english football. during 2000 , 2001 featured in 2 cup runs, saw him play part in 2000 football league cup final, tranmere lost out leicester city in final @ wembley stadium. memorably scored twice, including last minute winner in time, tranmere knock premier league side leeds united out of 2000–01 football league cup. played final game club on 22 march 2003 against peterborough united before departing prenton park @ end of 2002–2003 season.

sheffield united

parkinson moved neil warnock s sheffield united in july 2003, making debut on 9 august 2003 in 0–0 draw gillingham. struggled hold down first team place @ bramall lane , made available loan. signed notts county 2 separate loan spells before having contract terminated mutual consent @ united in may 2004.

grimsby town

in july 2004 became 1 of russell slade s first signings grimsby town manager, played first season mariners in attack partnered michael reddy. 9 league goals during 2004–2005 season enough him make him club s top scorer. during 2005–2006 campaign slade preferred push parkinson out wide left position on wing, whilst reddy partnered gary jones in attack. involved in club s league cup run saw off derby county before beating tottenham hotspur 1–0 parkinson s corner hit in on half volley jean-paul kalala. town beaten in third round newcastle united, , end of season had found in play-off spot, lost out in football league 2 final cheltenham town.

notts county

parkinson rejected fresh contract grimsby in summer of 2006 , opted return notts county had spent 2 loan spells during 2003–2004 season. parkinson remained @ meadow lane 2 seasons, , released when two-year contract expired.

cambridge united

parkinson signed cambridge united on 2 july 2008 on free transfer after being released notts county @ end of 2007–08 season , established himself fan favourite. in pre-season fixture against everton scored 2 goals, 1 of lob on goalkeeper edge of area on turn. however, injured anterior crutiate ligament in training in days following first appearance cambridge , ruled out rest of 2008–09 season. however, made exceptional recovery , returned first team squad in march 2009 substitute in cambridge s 2–0 home win against burton albion. later paid tribute work , skill of greg reid, cambridge united physio, speed , quality of recovery. parkinson part of cambridge squad suffered defeat torquay united in 2009 conference premier play off final @ wembley.he had contract cambridge united terminated mutual consent on 1 february 2010. parkinson signed gateshead on 16 february 2010, making debut same day against barrow. parkinson released gateshead @ end of 2009–10 season.

accrington stanley

he joined accrington stanley 2010/11 season. on 23 may 2011 announced released @ end of june 2011 when current contract expired.

aberystwyth town

in august 2011 after trial barrow afc, moved aberystwyth town.

prestatyn town

in july 2012 joined prestatyn town.

where struck great goal scoring partnership jason price prestatyn found near top of table.at end of first season north wales club helped them lift welsh cup first time in history,scoring free kick in 3–1 win after time against 8 time winners bangor city.parkinson made european debut in july 2013 prestatyn defeated latvians lepajas metalurgs in europa league 1st qualifying round.
