on october 15, 2013, dr. tewari named chairman of urology @ icahn school of medicine @ mount sinai hospital in new york city. served director of lefrak institute of robotic surgery, director of prostate cancer, director of robotic prostatectomy , prostate cancer-urologic oncology outcomes @ brady urology foundation of weill medical college. tenured professor of urology @ icahn school of medicine @ mount sinai. in addition, tewari directs fellowship program in robotic prostatectomy , prostate cancer outcomes has conducted research comparing robotic surgery outcomes versus of laparoscopic , open surgeries. tewari attending physician @ mount sinai hospital in new york city.

research

tewari s research interests revolve around diagnosis , treatment of patients urological cancers, focus on prostate cancer. research ranges study of patient outcomes, robotic techniques, molecular markers cancer aggressiveness, racial disparity in cancer biology, quality of life studies, strategies improve nerve sparing , sexual function recovery, , anatomic studies facilitate continence preservation development of next generation robotic techniques. has received several federal , non-federal research funding grants research on prostate cancer, totaling several million dollars in grant capital. 1 of few urologists in world receive nih r01 grant. additionally, among first surgeons use real time tissue imaging during surgery minimize nerve damage in patient , first surgeon in world use catheter-less prostate surgery. catheter-less surgery minimizes postoperative pain after prostatectomy.
