february, 2002—quit! participated in national student conference of palestine solidarity movement on berkeley campus of university of california.
june, 2002—quit! initiated no pride in occupation anti-war contingent marched in solidarity palestinian people in san francisco s lesbian, gay, bisexual , transgender pride march.
august, 2002–25 members of group reportedly took on starbucks in berkeley in protest of firm s stores in israel , ceo howard schultz s support israel.
june, 2003—the screening of israeli film, yossi & jagger, @ san francisco s san francisco international lesbian , gay film festival disrupted quit! activists. protest outraged yossi amrani, israeli consul general , caused minor local media flap.
june, 2003—quit! begins campaign against cosmetic company estée lauder outside of macy s department store in san francisco. company targeted because of ronald lauder s, company s founder, support israel , service president of jewish national fund.
in 2004, estee lauder companies boycott campaign titled estee slaughter financed, in part, $1500 grant resist.

founder arrested in west bank & israel

in december, 2004, 1 of quit! s founders, kate bender-raphael arrested israeli authorities while filming clash between israeli soldiers , activists protesting building of separation barrier in west bank village of bil in. bender-raphael had been arrested in israel , deported in 2003 filming israel defense forces reaction demonstration against barrier. result of arrest, quit! staged protest outside israeli consulate in san francisco.


boycott world pride jerusalem

in late 2004, in response interpride’s decision israeli group jerusalem open house host second world pride parade in 2005, quit! launched boycott world pride campaign. boycott picked steam after event postponed until august 2006 because of pullout of israeli settlements gaza strip. quit , many other individuals , organizations contended inappropriate hold event titled “love without borders” in city bisected 30-foot concrete wall. international gay , lesbian human rights commission (iglhrc) decided, in march 2006, not participate in world pride jerusalem, stating, iglhrc recognizes many lgbti people in region wish attend world pride 2006, named love without borders, unable due travel restrictions , conditions limit mobility , participation.


san francisco lgbt film festival

in march, 2007, quit! , south west asian, north african bay area queers (swanabaq) initiated campaign pressure frameline, organizer of san francisco international lgbt film festival, cut ties israeli government. in open letter signed more 100 artists , writers, including sophie fiennes, elia suleiman, ken loach, haim bresheeth, jenny morgan, john berger, arundhati roy, ahdaf soueif, eduardo galeano, brian eno, , leon rosselson, frameline asked honor calls international boycott of israeli political , cultural institutions, discontinuing israeli consulate sponsorship of lgbt film festival , not cosponsoring events israeli consulate.
