the bmw administration tower built between 1968 , 1972, in time 1972 summer olympics. 101 m (roughly 331 feet) building located near olympic village , cited 1 of notable examples of architecture in munich. large cathedral exterior supposed mimic shape of tire in racing car, garage representing cylinder head.


the main tower consists of 4 vertical cylinders standing next , across each other. each cylinder divided horizontally in centre mold in facade. notably, these cylinders not stand on ground, suspended on central support tower. during construction, individual floors assembled on ground , elevated, allowing simultaneous execution of shell , finished work. tower has diameter of 52.30 meters (roughly 171 feet). building has 22 occupied floors, 2 of basements , 18 serve office space. layout allows functional summary of entire floor, while preserving intimacy of group space in three-quarter circle.
