Tropical Storm Franklin List of storms in the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season
a tropical wave off bahamas organized tropical depression 6 on afternoon of july 21. depression became sixth named storm of season 2 hours later, first time sixth storm of season had ever formed in season. storm headed northward bahamas, northeast on atlantic, becoming disorganized july 24 under effects of shear , drier air. moved erratically, inching closer bermuda while barely remaining tropical storm. bermuda received strong wind gusts, otherwise unaffected. tropical storm franklin accelerated north , northeast, paralleling east coast of united states, , intensified near hurricane strength. eventually, franklin became extratropical along coast of nova scotia , newfoundland.
