soon after, in storyline in outsiders #13 -15 (august–october 2004), frequent captain marvel archenemy doctor sivana gathered psimon, freed mammoth, gizmo , jinx prison, , able restore shimmer’s shattered form, returning life, , put team work him in scheme short sell lexcorp stock having them steal accounts corporate building in metropolis, , driving down stock killing people in building, , destroying 2 other lexcorp properties. @ latter of two, microchip processor factory of lexcorp s subsidiary, kellacor, 5 confronted outsiders. after escaping, criminally unsophisticated 5 urged sivana take lexcorp s nuclear missile facility near joshua tree, california. when sivana refused, psimon asserted take anyway, , in response, sivana killed gizmo laser blast head, , severed relations remaining four, warning them kill them if ever crossed path again. sivana used money made scheme purchase tropical island off coast of thailand use lair, 5 defeated in plan take facility , fire nuclear missile @ canada. mammoth returned metahuman prison on alcatraz island, other 3 remain @ large.


sivana sarcastically suggested after killing gizmo team rename fearsome four. fearsome 5 next turn in villains united #5 (november 2005), wherein working secret society of super villains. time around, led psimon, , 3 other members of roster mammoth, shimmer, , jinx.


one year later, doctor light, dr. sivana, psimon, neutron, mammoth, shimmer , jinx seen on prison planet in salvation run. in salvation run #2, psimon interrupted joker, apparently murders him breaking dome houses brain , smashing rock, repeatedly. in final issue of miniseries, neutron used lex luthor power source teleportation device, , seemingly killed when self-destructs.


a new fearsome 5 surfaced following final crisis, formed calculator, members shown far mammoth, shimmer, jinx, , new members nano , rumble. nano , rumble 2 inmates of alcatraz shimmer recruited team, nano having been put jail after battling cyborg.


the new 52

in new 52 (a reboot of dc comics universe) part of forever evil storyline, members of fearsome 5 (consisting of gizmo, jinx, mammoth, psimon, , shimmer) recruited crime syndicate of america join secret society of super villains.


in justice league vol.2 #29, fearsome 5 sent among doctor psycho , hector hammond fight against cyborg , metal men. defeated metal men because half of team has powers influence brains, metal men have no brains.
