their first full-length album mirrored, recorded keith souza @ machines magnets, released on may 14, 2007. album received positive reviews , appeared on several top album lists 2007.


the first single album, atlas , released on february 21, 2007 streaming audio, , accompanying streaming video released on february 28, 2007. voted best single of week nme magazine, , received glowing review in british clash magazine, ranking @ number 1 in second dandelion radio festive fifty. song performed band on bbc television s later jools holland in november 2007.

the introduction of film tomorrow’s parties, released in october 2009, features live performance of atlas . performance recorded in may 2007 during tomorrow s parties festival took place in butlins holiday camp, minehead, somerset. new song sweetie , shag performed in dublin on 10 december 2009.

in august 2010, battles announced tyondai braxton left band; braxton had indicated did not want go on tour, while battles had touring schedule lined upcoming year.

battles second album, gloss drop, released on june 6, 2011 featuring guests including gary numan, kazu makino, , yamantaka eye, , band announced spring tour in support of record. in december 2011 band curated tomorrow s parties nightmare before christmas festival in minehead, england alongside co-curators les savy fav , caribou.


from february april 2012, series of 4 12 vinyl eps released, titled dross glop (a spoonerism of album s title) 1 through 4, featuring dance remixes of songs on gloss drop various artists, including gui boratto, kode9 , hudson mohawke. compilation album featuring 11 remixes (plus 1 not included, sundome ) released on april 16, 2012.


in august 2012, multi-platform video game sleeping dogs released square enix in features song futura in in-game radio station, warp radio. warp radio exclusively consists of warp records artists including battles , hudson mohawke, prior release of game, remixed battles gloss dross track rolls bayce .


in september 2012, ice cream featured in commercial video game fifa 12. commercial includes actor , comedian seth meyers, olympian , professional basketball player steve nash, , olympian , professional goalkeeper hope solo.

in 2014, battles announced via facebook page recording third album. on july 15, 2015, band announced new album titled la di da di , released on september 18, 2015.


on august 4, band released live session through warp records of them performing 4 new songs in new york city, summer simmer , tyne wear , dot com , , yabba , latter of given music video on september 9. stream 24 hours only, , set on constant loop. released track titled ff bada via soundcloud on september 2, 2015.
