the royal palace on Île de la cité had walled garden located @ southern point of palace, near statue of henry iv on pont neuf today. garden disappeared when place dauphine built in 17th century.


the monasteries on left bank had extensive gardens , orchards middle ages until french revolution. jardin des plantes built on land belonged abbey of saint victor. , large part of luxembourg garden today belonged neighboring monastery of chartreux. small modern recreation of medieval garden found today next cluny museum, former residence of abbot of abbey of cluny.
