the outskirts of tunstall became home new public art statue called golden in 2015. 69 ft (21m) steel work of art wolfgang buttress privately funded £180,000 section 106 monies , made cor-ten steel, same material angel of north. tapered lozenge design features powerful led lights illuminate 1,500 glass prisms containing written wishes or memories of local residents. each prism suspended main body of sculpture short arm, giving artwork bristly appearance. located on current site of potteries pyramid, moved nearby roundabout.


in october 2013 sculpture commemorating efforts of miners rebuild czech village of lidice devastated during second world war unveiled. 6.8 metres (22 ft) high steel sculpture cost £100,000 build , features 3,000 tags bearing initials of people promise share story of 1942 lidice shall live movement. north staffordshire-based dashyline commissioned stoke-on-trent city council create artwork, has been installed near hanley bus station.
