düsseldorf lies @ centre of lower rhine basin, delta of düssel flows rhine. city lies on east side of rhine, except district 4 (oberkassel, niederkassel, heerdt , lörick). across rhine, city of neuss stands on delta of erft. düsseldorf lies southwest of ruhr urban area, , in middle of rhine-ruhr metropolitan region.
