forty b-17 flying fortresses of 8th american air force dropped 152 tons of bombs on many populated areas of prague. carpet-bombing hit vyšehrad, zlíchov, karlovo náměstí, nusle, vinohrady, vršovice , pankrác. bombing resulted in deaths of 701 people , wounding of 1,184. 1 hundred houses , historical sites totally destroyed , 2 hundred heavily damaged. casualties civilians , not 1 of city s factories, might have been of use wehrmacht, damaged.
