casting

in 2013, after finishing work on script nabeel , fizza choose cast. javed sheikh first person offered role of shakeel bhai, director recounts had late moeen akhtar in our mind after passed away looked next best person , javed sheikh came mind . after reading script sheikh accepted film.

filming

principal photography began in january 2014 in karachi. filming took place around saddar town. saddar scenes involve actual strike in town; production had close town shooting; tyres , 3 5 cars placed night before shooting burn, in order make scene strike. first time in pakistan shooting film took place on such level. filming continued till june , completed in july. post-production , editing completed between july , august. became first pakistani film shot , released in same year, , second pakistani film shot on arri alexa xt digital cameras anamorphic lenses after jalaibee.
