prior fourth ski season, grand targhee purchased in october 1973 bill robinson, plastics manufacturer cincinnati, ohio. though absentee owner, robinson , family loved area, bought home in driggs, , visited throughout years.


in 1987, grand targhee resort purchased , operated mory , carol bergmeyer. bergmeyers improved resort facilities, added new guest activities , expanded reputation of targhee while continuing dedication family, quality , sensitive balance between people , great outdoors. in march 1990, rendezvous day lodge destroyed fire.


booth creek ski holdings, inc., corporation run ceo george gillett, jr., purchased grand targhee in march 1997. in june 2000, george , rose gillett, along 4 sons, purchased grand targhee booth creek ski holdings.


in 1997, resort s first high-speed detachable quad chair, dreamcatcher, replaced bannock, , shoshone double chair replaced fixed-grip quad. through land exchange in 2004, gilletts acquired ownership of grand targhee s base area. planning has begun future development of grand targhee resort including expansion of peaked mountain facilities , proposed expanded base area more lodging units.
