the romans left many archaeological remains in martigny. city known amphitheater, restored in 1978. cow fights held in amphitheater during autumn comptoir . city notable pierre gianadda foundation (fondation pierre gianadda) museum. important cultural attraction in martigny and, in addition gallo-roman museum, houses car museum. building constructed around remains of former roman temple built on top of roman ruins. foundation hosts 3 painting exhibitions every year, works renowned masters.
