2011

on august 27, 2011 grand rapids defeated columbus 18-17 (ot) in first-ever mila game. columbus went on have best record , top seed inaugural championship playoff, columbus withdrew day before event. second-seed grand rapids dragonfish went on claim first league championship defeating chicago 13-7 on october 1, 2011. chicago had advanced 26-1 semifinal win against milwaukee.


2012

in off-season, several expansion teams announced second season of mila. st. louis pride, pittsburgh octane, southern ohio box lacrosse, cleveland demons, detroit coney dogs , nebraska fighting perkins announced before end of calendar year. 3 more teams (madison capitals, minnesota jaxx , colorado sabertooths) announced 2012 season. nebraska never materialized , group indiana took on franchise rights, adding indy swagger league.


colorado crowned champion after 2012 season, when 10 teams competed in league play. st. louis , nebraska/indy failed teams off ground.


2013

expansion again on off-season agenda upstate bears named 11th league member in february 2013. new geographical boundaries, league again changed name. in march 2013 mila became continental indoor lacrosse league.


in may 2013 league administration announced. grand rapids gm russ king named commissioner of cill. detroit gm owen blank (secretary) , ray kincaid (treasurer) of chicago appointed.


seven teams made cill in 2013, colorado going undefeated win regular season , #1 seed cill cup playoffs. sabertooths went on defeat chicago 14-11 in championship game , crowned cill cup champions.

2014

cleveland demons announced return cill in 2014. demons competed in league starting in 2012, went on 1-year hiatus. cill announced lansing hot rods join league full-time members after playing limited exhibition schedule in 2013.


just prior season colorado sabertooths announced not play in 2014. after, columbus brew pulled out of season after multiple cancelled games. detroit coney dogs withdrew league play after 1 game , forfeit due low player numbers.


championship weekend took place september 27, 2014 in chicago. third place milwaukee declined participate became three-team event. second place grand rapids defeated pittsburgh octane 20-7 in semifinal advance. later evening, chicago outlaws defeated grand rapids dragonfish 20-13 win first cill cup.


2015

leadership change came in spring when a.j. collier ii took on league commissioner. schedule released in july 9 teams set compete.


just before regular season announced expansion minnesota ox joining league probationary team. minnesota play exhibition games in 2015 cease operations.


2016

at 2016 winter meeting took place on march 19, cill heard application, , accepted, expansion st. louis centurions.


2017

during winter meeting, board of governors voted rebrand box lacrosse league. governors accepted expansion wallaceburg satans.


st. louis go undefeated during season capturing bll cup.
