a system of trails offers hikers plenty of outing opportunities during summer months when drainage relatively free of water, , suspension footbridge across sugar creek, main drainage both parks, provides access trails on far side. trail 3 particularly noted ruggedness, including ladders , narrow deep gorges. floating down sugar creek through park in either inner tubes, canoes, or kayaks popular in summer months. there 3-mile (4.8 km), 8-mile (13 km), or 11-to-15-mile (18 24 km) trips down sugar creek. also, in spring when heavy rains , snow melt flood narrow gorges, many more adventurous hikers go creek stomping through narrow gorges. however, fast moving current, steep gorge walls, , unpredictable contours of creek beds make activity dangerous if water level high.
